Due to the overly increasing concerns about obesity not only in the US but in other parts of the world as well, people want to lose weight, and they want to do it right now.
There are so many reasons for one to want to lose weight, from becoming healthier, to looking better. whatever your reason is, there are great sources of motivation out there.
However, there are so many ways to lose weight that all the different types of diets, tips, tricks, and surgeries out there can bombard you.
Although the desire to lose weight in most cases is a good thing, it can become detrimental if you are doing it for the wrong reasons.
The media portrays a skinny figure as beautiful and we are constantly inundated with images of “the beautiful” people on TV, in magazines and in almost every aspect of our lives. If you just want to be skinny, or are losing weight for someone else, then losing weight could be bad for you mentally.
However, if you want to lose weight to feel better about yourself, become healthier, decrease the risk for disease, move more freely, be able to live longer or play with your kids, then these are all good reasons to want to lose weight.
